138. Mazie Julia SEEMAN was born on 19 Sep 1894 in Colorado, the fourth child of Henry Jesse and Eva (ADAMS) SEEMAN.  By age two, she and her family had moved to Freeport, Stephenson co., Illinois, near where her maternal grandparents lived.  Her father enrolled in medical school while the family was in Illinois, and after his completion of the medical program, moved to Dubuque, Iowa, where her father was an assistant to his brother, Dr. Fred Seeman.

When Mazie was 10, the family moved to Rockham, Faulk co., South Dakota, where her father opened up his own medical practice.  They may have lived in Dell Rapids, South Dakota, just prior to this time.

About 1913, Mazie left Rockham and moved to Sioux City, Woodbury co., Iowa, where she obtained work as a stenographer at a railroad office.

About 1921, she married Walter E. BRYANT, an Army veteran and Iowa native.  He was born in Jul 1895, the son of John H. BRYANT and Anna C. TRUXES.   Over the next few years, she did domestic work, and also worked as a store bookkeeper.

In 1930, Walter had relocated to Harlingen, Cameron co., Texas, and was working as an autombile salesman while living at a rooming house.  Mazie was still in Sioux City, renting a room and working as a bookkeeper for a store.  She eventually joined Walter in Harlingen, and lived out the rest of her life there.

They had no children.

Walter died on 28 Oct 1959 in Cameron co., Texas, at the age of 64.  Mazie lived another 22 years, passing away on 12 Jan 1981 at Harlingen, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, at the age of 86.  She was buried at Mission Burial Park at San Antonio, Texas.
