106. Mary M. "Lena" SEEMANN was born on 18 Jan 1860 in Jackson co., Iowa, to Detleff and Elizabeth (PETERSEN) SEEMANN.

 

Mary M. "Lena" SEEMANN and Oscar Conrad A. ADAMS were married on 24 Nov 1887 in Sutherland, O'Brien co., Iowa.Oscar Conrad A. ADAMS (son of John Quincy ADAMS and Julia VAN BROCKLIN) was born on 15 Dec 1861.  He was in the hardware business with Gus Schultz at Sutherland, O'Brien co., IA; in the creamery business at Meridan, Iowa, and farmed at both Sutherland and Lemmon, South Dakota. 

Lena died of heart failure while working in her garden at Lemmon, on 17 Jul 1920.  Her husband died on 25 Sep 1940 at Sioux City, Woodbury co., Iowa, following a gall bladder operation.  They are both buried at Lemmon, South Dakota.

Elmer Lloyd ADAMS was born on 9 Jun 1891 in Sutherland, O'Brien co., Iowa.  He was a farmer in Lemmon, Perkins co., South Dakota about 1916.  By 1920, he was a driver in a dray business, also in Lemmon.  In 1930, he worked as a day laborer, and lived with his father in Lemmon.  By September of 1930, he lived in Reno, Washoe co., Nevada.  He was described as tall, medium build, with brown eyes and brown hair, according to his World War I Draft Registration papers. He died on 6 May 1964, and is buried in Reno, Nevada.
